Day-to-day operations
Under Users you can create, edit, deactivate, and offboard accounts. Roles separate Admin Console access from Locai App access. MFA resets and password resets are administrator actions and are audited.
There is no per-seat licence cap. Capacity is limited by hardware (GPU, VRAM, throughput).
Models
Section titled “Models”Models shows what fits this appliance’s VRAM and what is loaded.
- Load starts download (if needed) and starts inference.
- Unload frees VRAM.
- You can run more than one model when memory allows.
- Set a default model so API clients have a sensible target.
If a model will not fit, the console shows that before you load it. See Troubleshooting if a load stays stuck.
Assistant
Section titled “Assistant”Assistant sets the name and default instructions for the assistant on this appliance. It applies to everyone who uses the Locai App. It does not replace per-person chat.
Updates, power, and factory reset
Section titled “Updates, power, and factory reset”These live under General:
- About: serial, version, hostname. Copy for support is the text Locai will ask for.
- Updates: the installed Locai OS release, and applying a newer one when Locai has published it. Use a maintenance window. Keep a diagnostics bundle if an issue appears after an update. Rolling back an update is not a data backup.
- Power: reboot or shut down the appliance. Confirm on screen. Sessions will drop.
- Factory reset: destructive. Accounts and stored work on the appliance are not recoverable from the console afterwards.
Storage
Section titled “Storage”Storage shows how much disk is in use. You can free space by removing unused files the console lists. Confirm before you delete. A model that will not load is often a disk problem; see Troubleshooting.
API keys and endpoints
Section titled “API keys and endpoints”API keys shows both the keys and the URLs clients should use:
- On your network: office-network URL (always available).
- Company domain: only after you enable Direct DNS.
Users may use the Locai App. Developers and integrations use the OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible API with an API key (streaming or not, thinking on or off). Point existing clients, agents, and SDKs at this appliance.
- Create a key for yourself under API keys (shown once: copy it immediately).
- Create or revoke keys for other users from that user’s page under Users, or revoke any key from API keys.
- Test with Playground before handing a key to an integration (OpenAI and Anthropic snippets are both there).
Activity and limits
Section titled “Activity and limits”- Activity: usage, traces, and the admin audit log.
- Limits: organisation and per-person request caps.
Monitoring, data sharing, and your account
Section titled “Monitoring, data sharing, and your account”- Monitoring (under Appliance): live metrics for this appliance.
- Data sharing (under Privacy & support): opt-in status reports. Off by default. Never prompts, documents, or API keys.
- Your account: your password, appearance, and this session. Password and authenticator resets for other people are under Users.
